Friday Nights are Youth Night
Youth Night is held on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the church. The service includes praise and worship, a devotional, activities, and food. All teens are invited!
February 13, 2010 | Valentine Luncheon Report The Men’s Fellowship and the Women’s Ministry groups joined together for a Valentine’s Luncheon on Saturday, February 13. It was a great time of food, fun and fellowship with 28 people in attendance. Special thanks to Janie Scott and Fay Shultz who prepared the chicken enchiladas and side dishes and to the others that prepared food and helped set-up and clean-up.
December 13, 2009 | Women's Ministry Trip
The Women’s Ministry group had a great time attending the Phoenix First Assembly of God’s “Star of Wonder” presentation yesterday. Twelve women attended--it was a wonderful way to celebrate the season. Special thanks goes to Janie Scott for planning a great event; Lisa Popplewell for getting our tickets; and to Marilyn Hardin and Kim Pettigrew for driving.
December 6, 2009 | District Bishop Carman's Visit
Arizona District Bishop James and Betty Carman were in service today. Bishop Carman ministered during the morning service, and following the service he addressed the members of the congregation about the retirement of Pastor Owen and Fay Shultz and the selection process of our new Pastors. All members were requested to stay for the meeting following the service.
December 6, 2009 | Men’s Fellowship Potluck Update
For their December meeting, the Men’s Fellowship held a potluck and watched a video following the meal on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Thirteen men attended. They enjoyed a great time of fellowship. Thank you to everyone that prepared food and cleaned up.
December 6, 2009 | Drawing for Plaques The drawing for the plaques was held on Sunday, December 6, 2009. The winners were Lou Jaramillo, Glenn and Mickey Koestel, and Pastor Shultz. Thank you to everyone that purchased raffle tickets to raise funds for t-shirts for our church softball team. Special thanks goes out to Chuck Waalkens for making the beautiful works of art.
November 29, 2009 | Pastors Announce Retirement Pastor Owen and Fay Shultz announced their retirement as Pastors for the First Pentecostal Church of God on November 29. Their family joined them as they shared memories of the past and their hopes for the future. Our sincere appreciation goes out to our Pastors for their faithful service to this church and to the PCG organization for over 43 years. We pray that they will be blessed in their retirement and that they will find joy and happiness each day. Their retirement will take effect on December 29. The couple will continue to reside in Kingman, and they plan to remain active in the Kingman First Pentecostal Church of God.
November 22, 2009 | Youth Ministry Thanks
Thank you to everyone that came out to the Youth Ministry Thanksgiving festivities held on Saturday, November 21. It was a great program and a wonderful turn out with 88 in attendance! The teens performed a human video, CJ Green provided music, and Rev. Karen Green gave the sermon. There was a drawing for prizes and each teen visitor received a gift. We pray that lives will be changed through this outreach. Thank you to everyone that provided food and helped with serving and cleaning up.

November 7, 2009 | Women's Ministry Update
Thank you to all the women that attended and brought the wonderful soups and desserts for the Women’s Ministry meeting and luncheon held November 7. They tied the men with 24 in attendance. The women discussed their cookbook. Lucy Johnson is going to be the coordinator for the cookbook, and Sonyia Jaramillo, Carol Pashano, Barbara Williams, and Susie Leam are on the committee.
November 6, 2009 | Men's Dinner and Movie Update
The Men’s Fellowship group had dinner and a movie on Friday night. There were 24 men in attendance. The men had a great time of fellowship and were blessed by the message of the movie. Special thanks to all those that provided food.

October 1-2, 2009 | Work Day Thanks Thank you to Alice Chamberlain, Fay Shultz, Delores Yell, Judy Gonzales, Grace Graeber, Susie Leam, Lena Wright, and Ethan Miller for all their help in cleaning and organizing the church. Several of these worked on both Thursday and Friday at the church. Special thanks to Lou Jaramillo and Jason Jaramillo who helped Pastor Shultz doing drywall in the parsonage and to Bud Peters for steam cleaning the carpets. Your work is very appreciated!!
September 20, 2009 | Women's Ministry Retreat Twenty women from our church attended the Arizona District Women’s Ministry retreat on September 17-19 at the Mile High Worship Center in Prescott Valley, AZ. The group was greatly blessed by the ministry of Sister Arlena Burnsworth, Women’s Ministry Director of the Oklahoma District. There was plenty of worshipping the Lord, getting to know one another better and, of course, a lot of shopping and eating!
September 12, 2009 | Men’s Fellowship Breakfast
The Men’s Fellowship Breakfast was held on Saturday, September 12, at 9:00 a.m. Fifteen men attended and enjoyed a time fellowship. Leader Ken Scott served up biscuits and gravy to the men. Thank you to Sister Fay Shultz for her help in preparing the food.
September 11, 2009 | Youth Night
A total of nine attended Youth Night on Friday, September 11, at 7:00 p.m. Kevin Waalkens and Ethan Miller led the service, and Sister Fay Shultz assisted as Youth Pastor Delma Perez was unable to attend.
September 6, 2009 | Children Dedicated
The following were dedicated during Sunday’s morning service on September 6: Angel Gortariz, Ember Catherine Johnson, and Breana Rubio. We commend the families for committing to bringing up these children for the Lord.
August 24, 2009 | Our Heartfelt Condolences Our love and sympathy goes out to Jean Sorensen on the passing of his wife, Ruby. Ruby passed away on August 18, 2009. She will be greatly missed by our church family, but we are comforted knowing that she is with the Lord. A memorial service will be held on September 20 at 1:00 p.m.
Our sincere sympathy also goes out to Edith Barker and family on the loss of her uncle, Terry. Terry died in a car accident in New Mexico, and his wife is in critical condition following the accident. Please keep this family in your prayers.
August 16, 2009 | New Members Congratulations to the following who became members of the First Pentecostal Church of God on Sunday, August 16, 2009:
Bud Peters, Lisa Peters, Kelsey Peters, and Kevin Waalkens.
Kelsey is the church's first "junior member." Junior members, age 12-17, are allowed under church bylaws. Such members, do not have voting rights until their 18th birthday. The church is encouraging it's young people to become members under this provision.
August 16, 2009 | Baptismal Service Raul Parsons and Ken Chokie were baptized on Saturday, August 16, 2009. We commend these for men for making this important step in their Christian walk.
August 15, 2009 | Back to School Youth Rally A Back to School Youth Rally was held at the Williams PCG on the evening of Saturday, August 15. Eighteen youth and adults attended. Everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship and Youth Pastor Delma Perez met with other youth leaders. It is reported that there are photos, and we hope to have a slideshow posted here in the near future. Please keep our school-aged children and teens in your prayers as they return to school.
August 6-8, 2009 | Men's Camping Retreat The Men’s Fellowship group held camping retreat August 6-8 at Kaibab Lake in Williams. The men enjoyed a time of outdoor fellowship with fishing and horseshoes as well as praise and worship and devotionals. A total of 11 attended: Ken and Curtis Chokie, Ethan Miller, Allen Pashano, Rob Pashano, Mason Popplewell, Ken Scott, Pastor Owen Shultz, Kevin and David Waalkens, and Chuck Waalkens. Special thanks to Chuck Waalkens and Ken Scott for planning the event.
July 25, 2009 | Hike in the Hualapais On Saturday, July 25, 2009, a group of six (Allen, Carol, and Haley Pashano; Marilyn and Alan Hardin; and Matt Vincent) hiked to the Aspen Peak in the Hualapai Mountains. Since the group was small, they decided to take the more strenuous hike to the top. The beautiful scenery made it well worth the climb.
July 21, 2009 |Softball Update The 2009 Kingman church softball league season is over for our team as we finished the final game with three wins. Although, it was not a winning season, the team and its supporters had a great time of fellowship!
July 13-17, 2009 |Youth at Camp
(I)mpact Summer Camp was held at Camp Pine Rock in Prescott on July 13–17. The youth group raised funds to pay their registration fees – 14 campers and leaders Delma Perez and Fay Shultz attended. On Sunday, July 19, the campers gave a report on their time at camp. There were separate camps for high school, junior high, and pre-teen. The kids had a great time, and they were blessed with relevant teachings and activities. Thank you for your prayers and support!
July 12, 2009 |Missionary Visit Rev. Daniel Falquez and wife Hermine and daughter Shina shared with us what God is doing through their ministry in Germany. The family also includes son We thank God for the Falquez family, and pray that God will continue to be with them when they return to the mission field.
July 10, 2009 |Update on Men’s and Women’s BBQ
The Men’s Fellowship and Women’s Ministry groups held a BBQ on Friday evening. The women prepared the side dishes, and Ken Scott did the grilling. It was a great time of fellowship! A total of 37 people attended, 14 men and 23 women. Thanks to everyone that attended and to those that prepared food and cleaned up!
March 28, 2009 |Camp Beale Loop Hike
A group of fifteen people hiked the Camp Beale Loop in Kingman, AZ, on March 28. The 3.2 mile hike was challenging on the way up, but everyone had a great time.
Donate Your Aluminum Cans [Think Green!]
Please remember to save your aluminum cans. The proceeds will go toward various projects at the church. Bagged cans can be placed in the kitchen. This is a fundraiser that everyone CAN get involved in, and you can feel good that you are doing your part to help the environment!

Bake a Cake and Be Blessed
Thank you to everyone for your faithfulness in baking cakes for the Cornerstone Mission. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please raise your hand when volunteers for cakes are requested in the Sunday morning service. The cake should be baked in 9” X 13” disposable aluminum pan. You can bring your cake to Wednesday’s Bible Study or deliver it directly to the Cornerstone Mission located at 3049 Sycamore Avenue by 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
